The beneficial use of Blanc fixe & Zinc Sulfide
By the use of Blanc fixe as spacer the efficiency of titanium dioxide can be improved by some percent and its loading reduced accordingly without any adversely effects on other properties.
The use of Lithopone combines spacing with hiding of an alternative white pigment which allows for example replacement rates of about 30% of titanium dioxide.
With the use of Sachtolith titanium dioxide can be replaced completely with more technical than economical advantages for certain application like UV-curing coatings, thermally stressed polymers or glass fiber reinforced plastics.
