Barytes: The economical alternative

At Sachtleben, natural barytes are specially processed and supplied, in every case, in grades of constant and consistent quality. They are chemically stable and resistant to high temperatures. Thanks to their high density, low Mohs hardness and low binder demand, they are especially suitable for a broad and diverse range of applications in the paints, coatings and also the plastics industry.

Barytes are used in emulsion paints and top coats, as well as in primers and light-colored mastic compounds. Automotive-sector filler compounds containing Sachtleben barytes are particularly notable for their outstandingly smooth finish surfaces. In a range of pigment preparations for the most diverse applications, barytes provide an economically rational alternative to titanium dioxide.
