Heterogeneous catalysis

Titanium dioxide is extraordinarily chemically stable and is soluble only in extremely highly concentrated acids. It is not soluble, on the other hand, in alkalis. Titanium dioxide catalysts thus do not release any disruptive ions when used in their various special applications. They are optimally suitable for use as base substances in conventional pH ranges, but also, and in particular, for use in highly alkaline media.

Chemical Properties:

– Highly resistant to acids and lyes
– Low foreign-ion content
– Selectable water content

Physical Properties:

– Specific surface area (BET): 10 - 300 m2/g
– Crystallite size: 1 - 200 nm
– Particle diameter: 0.2 - 100 µm
– Pore diameter (N2): 1 - 100 nm
– Pore volume (N2): 0.1 - 0.4 ml/g

Sachtleben can modify the special characteristics of its catalytically active titanium dioxide products within the ranges stated above, thus permitting precision-tailored properties for your applications. Our products for catalysis can be supplied either as powders.
